"Bring the full tithe into the storehouse."
In biblical times, the full tithe is the 10% of one's income given for the work of the church. Living Word follows this principle by giving 10% of what the church receives to charities with missions consistent with our faith. The remainder is used to fund the ongoing expenses associated with maintaining a vibrant ministry.
Ways to Give
Some people cannot imagine giving any other way. We will always receive offering during worship.
If you won't be in church next Sunday, or missed last weekend, you can drop your offering off at the church.
You may be able to set up your offering to be sent directly to the church, just like every other financial priority.
You may be able to increase giving by lowering your taxable income by using a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Givers over the age of 70 and 1/2 who receive a required minimum contribution are urged to consult with a tax professional about this option. More information is available in this handout.
Setting up a recurring gift to the church through your bank can help you stay on track with your intended giving.

* Living Word Lutheran Church incurs fees for online and text giving. Regular givers may prefer to use other methods that result in the entire gift being used for direct ministry.
