Living Word Lutheran Church will maintain the regular worship service schedule.

(IMPORTANT CHANGE: No onsite worship March 22 and 29)

March 14, 2020

Like so many other people and organizations, Living Word is wading through unfamiliar waters.  Congregational leadership is closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and considering recommendations from federal, state, and county officials as we move forward.   After careful and prayerful consideration,

Living Word Lutheran Church

will maintain the regular worship service schedule.
(IMPORTANT CHANGE: No onsite worship March 22 and 29)

That being said, we trust everyone to make whatever decisions are necessary to protect their own health and the health of those around them.  Not only is it alright to not come to church, we support that decision.  In fact, anyone with underlying health conditions is encouraged to make personal health and safety the highest priority.  Anyone, regardless of age, with COVID-19 or any other contagious disease, should stay home and rest -- especially people over the age of 60.

If you decide to come to worship . . .

  • Expect more fist bumps and elbow taps instead of handshakes.
  • Offering plates will not be passed, but collected in specific locations.
  • Holy Communion will be served by people who as they have done in the past,  washed and sanitized their hands first.

If you decide not to come to worship . . .

Other things in the works . . .

  • Pastor Eric will deliver updates and short messages on our YouTube Channel.   Click here to subscribe.
  • The Worship and Music Ministry is making contingency plans should the threshold for group gatherings be lowered by state officials.
  • We are exploring ways to expand use of technology for Bible studies, meetings, and so forth.

Keeping ministry the focus . . .

  • Stay in touch with those choosing to stay home, respecting social distancing with a call or email before making a visit.
  • Let us know how the church can support you.
  • Pray unceasingly
  • Live in hope, not fear.
  • Love your neighbor, serve their needs, and show them Jesus.

and most importantly . . .

Remember that we are the church, not because of a building, but because of Jesus, and no virus can touch that.
